Iraq and Saudi Arabia sign an agreement to exchange prisoners
The Ministry of Justice of Iraq, Sunday, has signed an agreement with the Saudi government for the exchange of prisoners, saying that the Convention will enter into force thirty days after the date of exchange of diplomatic notes confirming that the two parties.
He said the ministry's spokesman Haidar al-Saadi said in an interview for "Alsumaria News", the Minister of Justice Hassan Shammari took place yesterday, in his visit to Saudi Arabia with Saudi Minister of Justice Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Essa agreement on transfer of sentenced penalties of deprivation of freedom, indicating that it came out of the relationship closely linking the two brotherly peoples and the desire of the two countries in the establishment of cooperation in the transfer of sentenced persons.
He said al-Saadi, the Convention provides that the state conviction handed over the convict after approval of the transfer to the State of enforcement in the place and date agreed upon by the parties, noting that the State of conviction bears all the costs of the transfer of the sentenced person on its territory and bear the State of enforcement expenses that are located on its territory as unless the parties agree otherwise do so.
