Said the Legal Committee in the House of Representatives that the political blocs refused to "consensus" lift legal immunity for deputies who asked the judiciary to lift the immunity from them last month.
A member of the Liberal MP for the mass of the Sadrist movement Prince Kanani in a press statement that "the Committee did not discuss the legal mini-request of the Iraqi judiciary lift the immunity of some lawmakers to the futility of it,"
Noting that "all the political blocs, without exception, defended the House of Representatives to lift the immunity to be legal for them." Kanani explained that "his committee can not include the name of a deputy for the purpose of lifting his immunity as a result of protection by the political bloc."
The Parliamentary Legal Committee has revealed last month, received a request from the judiciary to lift legal immunity for six deputies representing the list of the National Alliance and the Iraqi List.
