GARMIYAN, May 2 (AKnews) - 2,000 donums of land has been allocated by Garmiyan authorities for the construction of a number of factories between Kalar city and Girdagozina town.
The news was made public yesterday, on Labor Day, by Garmiyan administrator Salahaddin al-Mohammed.
"We have intensified our efforts to build various factories so that a great number of our youth are no longer unemployed," Mohammed said.
The official did not mention any details about the project but said, "Garmiyan administration has always planned to implement the greatest number of projects for the creation of more jobs."
Mahmoud Latif, the press secretary of Garmiyan-based branch of Kurdistan Workers and Craftsmen Syndicate, believes this project will help to boost the region's economy with the aid of private sector, in addition to reduction in unemployment rate in the area.
