BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Minister of State and government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh announced today that the government will impose the need to present international inspection certificates from SGS and Bureau Veritas companies for all commodities to be imported into the country.
Al-Dabbagh noted that the government is granting a ten-day grace period for companies to complete these formalities for all imported commodities.
In a statement, which was also received by Aswat al-Iraq, he added that "this is to guarantee their usage according to Iraqi standards."
"This is the final chance to enable the importers to complete their formalities for introducing the commodities into the Iraqi markets," he concluded.
