ERBIL, May 31 (AKnews) - There are currently no candidates to replace PM Nouri al-Maliki if the political blocs continue their efforts to withdraw confidence from Maliki, said Iraqiya List spokesman Haider al-Mulla yesterday.
Iraqiya List, the Kurdish Blocs Coalition (KBC) and the Sadrists are holding consultations about the possibility of withdrawing confidence from Maliki after the PM did not show any response to demands about the management of the state.
Mulla said: "The candidate for the PM post will be nominated by the NA exclusively.
"We believe that the political movement towards ending the dictatorship approach is for the favor of the Iraqi citizens, since fighting dictatorship is one of the demands of the Iraqi people after the sacrifices they have made over the past decades."
Iraqiya and Maliki's State of Law Coalition have disagreed about almost all political issues since the formation of the current government.
