Shafaq News / Al- Iraqiya leader, Iyad Allawi confirmed that the figures reported by the Office of the President regarding the number of representatives who signed to withdraw confidence from, Nuri al-Maliki are
"inaccurate" and has a "mistake", pointing out that the withdrawal of confidence will be in the first session of the parliament.
The parliament selected the 21 of June as a date to resume its meetings. The office of President , Jalal Talabani issued on Saturday a statement briefed to "Shafaq News", in which he disclosed receiving signatures of 160 MPs from White Al-Iraqiya coalition , Kurdistan forces coalition , Liberals bloc and a number of independent MPs to withdraw confidence from Nuri al-Maliki.
However, the statement pointed out that 11 of the signatories MPs told the office to withdraw their signatures while two MP s requested to "suspend” their signatures.
Allawi said in an interview briefed by "Shafaq News", that "There are other measures to withdraw confidence that will be used, while the numbers are available fully" .
Allawi’s talk followed what Kurdistan Region’s President , Masoud Barzani has said about exceeding the quorum in the effort to withdraw confidence from Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki to reach 170 signatures of MPs who gathered to find an alternative to the National Alliance.
Withdrawing confidence needs 163 votes and if they succeed, it will be concluded to a caretaker government to assign a candidate of the National Alliance to form the government, but analysts do not rule out that the scenario of forming Maliki’s government will be repeated in which negotiations about its formation lasted for several months.
"Our objection is not to al-Maliki personally, but on his approach and constant violations to the Iraqi Constitution." He stressed that, "We are determined to move forward on the issue of withdrawing confidence, and we have 167 votes and there are other names that will be added to this issue." he pointed out that, "the withdrawal of confidence from Maliki will be in the first session of the parliament,” Allawi added.
Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region embraced a meeting of the leaders and representatives of the political blocs that gathered to withdraw confidence from al-Maliki.
The participants confirmed at the conclusion of the meeting in a statement in which “Shafaq News " received a copy of it, the existence of" incorrect measures " that Maliki has taken to stay in office, and noted that the signatures of the MPs who support this endeavor are correct and will send Talabani a letter confirming this.
