Maliki confirms to Washington that his government is far from "the policy of axes"

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki adviser to Vice President Joe Biden, National Security Council on Thursday that Iraq is pursuing regional policy "is far from the policy of axes."
Al-Maliki said during a meeting with Tony Pellnkn in his office in Baghdad that "Iraq is pursuing an independent policy away from the policy themes that are trying to put Iraq at the center of a given axis against another."
He was quoted according to a statement released by his press office "on the strength of relations" between Baghdad and Washington called for "to move forward in the coordination between Iraq and the United States so as to enhance opportunities for security and stability in the region."
Maliki also said that "Iraq with its democratic system is capable of solving all the problems and overcome all challenges to his way."
The statement noted that the national security adviser to Vice President Joe Biden said part of his on the "convergence of views between the two countries on various problems and challenges experienced by Iraq and the region."
He Pellnkn that "the success (Iraq) in the regional relations, especially with some neighboring countries and hosted by the Arab Summit Conference and other activities increased from qualifying to play a bigger role in the region."
