ERBIL, June 25 (AKnews) – The Kurdistan Region's parliament speaker announced that the opposition have accepted 75 percent of the 2012 budget’s articles.
Arsalan Bayiz talked about the budget in a press conference after the approval of the region's budget yesterday.
Bayiz said: "The Kurdistan parliament has spent 70 hours debating the 2012 budget. The budget was approved with the majority of votes in parliament, which was 75 percent.”
The opposition did not vote on 20-25 percent of the budget’s articles and their demands were not fulfilled due to a lack of enough votes, added Bayiz.
The speaker added: "Parliament allocated a budget for disputed areas, which is unfortunately not enough for them."
