Mutlag to re-assume his post next week

ERBIL, July 27 (AKnews)- Deputy prime minister for services affairs, Saleh Mutlag, will re-assume his post next week, an informed source said.

Mutlag will resume work at his post at the Council of Ministers after he returns from a treatment journey, the source who demanded anonymity told Iraqi news agency.

He added deputy PM assured PM Nouri al-Maliki that he intends to continue work at the Council, far from political pressure.

AKnews contacted Mutlag's office, which said the deputy PM is now in Turkey for treatment and refused to comment on the news.

The news comes only two days after Maliki received Mutlag in his house. Close sources described the meeting important.

Maliki decided to sack Mutlag after the latter compared the PM to Saddam Hussein, saying Hussein was a "constructive dictator" while Maliki is a "destructive dictator."
