was signed on Monday a contract for the establishment of two power electrical energy between the Kurdistan Regional Government and two from South Korea was signed on the contract by the Barzani Prime Minister and the heads of the two Koreas, "CNOOC" and "Bosco", and Minister of Electricity and Resources Minister natural in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Ashti Hawrami at a cost of $ 700 million.
The first contract is the establishment of the first station steam for electricity production in the Kurdistan region in the area (Khabat) in Arbil, in the first phase with a capacity of (300) MW, and will be completed in the project from three to six months.
The second contract to create the station to convert the voltage capacity of ( 400) kV electric energy conversion, the first of its kind in the region where it will be created in the Bazian area of the city of Sulaymaniyah, and duration of work in which eight months. Stations will be established by the South Korean firm POSCO, a private company in the production of electric power.
And under the oil contract signed in 2008 between the Ministry of Natural Resources at the KRG and the national oil company, South Korea, "CNOOC" adopt a Korean company the costs of the two stations. Under the contract the oil company will (CNOOC), South Korea in the first phase of operations research and oil exploration in the Kurdistan region, while the second phase will include support for infrastructure projects of the region, and the establishment of these stations to generate electricity comes under the second phase of the contract of oil.
After completion of the ceremony of signing of the contracts, in a press statement described the Engineer Yasin Sheikh Abu Bakr Maota this day historic, the Kurdistan Regional Government, where will these stations an active role in increasing the production of electric power and fill the local need in the region better and hope to provide the citizens of 22 hours to 24 hours a day.
