Nijaifi, International Monetary Fund discuss support presented to ICB

Baghdad (AIN) –The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the delegation of the International Monetary Fund discussed the support presented by the latter to the Iraqi Central Bank.
A statement by Nijaifi's office received by AIN cited "The meeting involved talks over the differences between the sells of the US dollar by the ICB and the exchanges of the Iraqi Market," noting that "Nijaifi confirmed the necessity of facilitating the process getting the money by the citizens from the ICB especially in the emergency cases."
"The ICB policy could be considered as conservative by some politicians yet the regional unstable situation make such policy as compulsory," the statement mentioned.
"The head of the delegation praised the role of the parliament in improving the economic situation in the country by consolidating the independence of the ICB and adopting its observations over budget of 2012," the statement continued.
"At the end of the meeting, the delegation hailed the Nijaifi's observations and expressed readiness to support in this issue," the statement concluded. /End/
