BAGHDAD (Iba) ... imposed and the Iraqi Ministry of Environment fines on mobile phone companies in the Nineveh to lack of environmental approvals by erecting towers, and gave those companies ten days to get these approvals, threatened to remove the towers from the province.
A statement from the Ministry received the independent press (Iba) ... Friday for ministry spokesman Ameer Ali Hassoun said that "the ministry monitored environmental violations to mobile phone companies, Asiacell and Zain Iraq and Cork and words, erected at Monument towers in the province of Nineveh," noting that "impose fines on those companies."
Hassoun said that "The ministry gave the offending companies only ten days to get those approvals," adding "they threatened to remove the towers of the province in the event of lack of access to it."
Hassoun stressed that "The ministry had sent earlier, 77 warning to these companies, demanding review and remove irregularities, but did not respond to that."
