IRAQ AND SPAIN SIGN CULTURAL, SCIENTIFIC AGREEMENT

Iraq signed a cultural and scientific co-operation agreement with Spain to enhance its knowledge of recent developments in these fields, the Iraqi Ministry of Culture said Wednesday (January 2nd).
A "high-ranking Iraqi delegation" visiting Spain signed the agreement with the Spanish foreign ministry on Monday, ministry spokesperson Abdel Qader al-Saadi told Al-Shorfa.
The agreement "represents a significant gain for Iraq", he said.
Under the agreement, Iraqi professors and researchers will be sent to Spain so they can acquire experience and bring it back to Iraq, al-Saadi said.
Spain also will provide Iraqi universities with knowledge of the latest scientific, literary, cultural and technical developments and will support Iraq by way of electronic and print ads in Europe to help develop its cultural and literary image.
