Vietnam and Iraq sign commercial agreement
Baghdad, May 26 (AKnews) – Iraq and Vietnam signed an agreement over commercial, industrial and agricultural exchange between both countries.
Minister of Trade Hassan Babaker said Vietnam, a major producer of rice, coffee and tea, is interested in the Iraqi market and Iraq could benefit from Vietnam’s experience.
"The Vietnamese side agreed to support Iraq in the agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors and by sending staff to Iraq”, Babaker said. “We will specifically use their experience in the field of agriculture."
Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture, Cao Duc Phat, said Vietnam is looking forward to develop projects with Iraq, such as cooperation in the field of energy.
"The Iraqi government must allow Vietnamese companies to enter the competitions on oil fields", he said. "Vietnam wants to import crude oil, its derivatives and petrochemicals from Iraq.”
Phat also said that Vietnam will open its embassy in Baghdad in the near future.
