Iraq to the UN Security Council: We are committed to close the issues of missing Kuwaitis and Kuwaiti property

Twilight News / Iraq reiterated to the UN Security Council, to close the issues of the missing Kuwaitis and Kuwaiti property.
The Iraqi ambassador to the United Nations, Hamid al-Bayati, in a letter sent to the President of the Security Council and seen by "Twilight News" that "the Government of Iraq reaffirms its commitment to continue to search for missing Kuwaitis and their desire to resolve this emotional humanitarian issue which has a great deal of importance to Kuwaiti families ".
Bayati said the Iraqi government "reaffirms its support for the proposalby Ban Ki-moon to locate missing Kuwaitis and Kuwaiti property in a effort by joint committee of bilateral or by representative of the secretary-general that was appointed for this purpose," adding that "Governments reaffirm that such a move to facilitate the close this matter. "
With the end of the mandate of the Tarasov from Russia in the 31 December 2012 Ban Ki-moon proposed to the Security Council to consider a number of options to make sure this humanitarian endeavor is handled with care during the next six months.
Based on the consultations that took place recently in both Kuwait and Iraq earlier this month the UN Secretary General suggested in this report that the United Nations Mission to help Iraq (UNAMI) take over the task of Tarasov or set interim coordinator for six months, or to find another to replace Tarasov or choose another person from the United Nations headquarters to undertake this task. "
Recalled that the Security Council still consults on these matters while the Western countries on the Security Council prefer to have one of the officials of the Secretariat of the United Nations, while Russia favors the temporary appointment of a coordinator from one of their senior repestentatives.
