Baghdad (AIN) –The Mines Affairs Directorate within the Ministry of Environment destroyed (17,000) mines of various in Waist province.

The Ministry reported in statement received by AIN on Thursday ''The Ministry of Environment in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense managed to destroy the mines by controlled detonating methods.''

''The strategy of the Ministry of Environment aims to get rid of all mines and projectiles, which remained after the wars of the former regime,'' the statement added.
