Hi Everyone,

This is a thread from StrykerBlog and I'm wondering if maybe (as I can't find an answer to this yet) anyone here might be able to address these articles and what we may be very likely looking at regarding the SBA extension?

Thank you...OOTW

INTOSAIThe International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) operates as an umbrella organisation for the external government audit community. For more than 50 years it has provided an institutionalised framework for supreme audit institutions to promote development and transfer of knowledge, improve government auditing worldwide and enhance professional capacities, standing and influence of member SAIs in their respective countries. In keeping with INTOSAI's motto, 'Experientia mutua omnibus prodest', the exchange of experience among INTOSAI members and the findings and insights which result, are a guarantee that government auditing continuously progresses with new developments.
INTOSAI is an autonomous, independent and non-political organisation. It is a non-governmental organisation with special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

INTOSAI was founded in 1953 at the initiative of Emilio Fernandez Camus, then President of the SAI of Cuba. At that time, 34 SAIs met for the 1st INTOSAI Congress in Cuba. At present INTOSAI has 191 Full Members and 4 Associated Members. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Can anyone tell me if they push back the SBA how this effects us/if it effects us and how? I've never received any clear answers to this...why do we watch it so closely? They can RV at any point with or without this deadline being moved right? Why is it such an "indicator" for us?

Well, so far I have seen nothing new posted on the IMF site since the October 05, 2012 -- IMF Program Note on Iraq Program Note on Iraq. No change in the financials [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] If you notice the pattern of responses from the IMF usually comes out in March and April once they have recieved the LOI (Letter of Intent). So it could be, JMO that this meeting with the IMF is hopefully a good thing. See Iraq was given a 3 year SBA and then another 7 month extention ( I always wondered why 7 not 6, because a correction in the exchange rate regime would be much easier at the beginning of the year). So if we make to mid March without seeing Iraq ask for an extention, were good. Now, if we see them ask for an extention, not so good. Now, this meeting about discussing standby credit, we will just have to see what comes out of it. All I can say is that I hope they paid the 2,870,585 SDR millions due on the Feb 1st, because they owe 37,137,500 in June
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So I'm wondering if anyone thinks this huge jump in payment to the IMF, might lean toward us seeing an increase in
rate in June?
