Iraq supports UNESCO million dollars to cover its activities

Iraq has signed an agreement with UNESCO granted whereby the amount of one million U.S. dollars to the FAO emergency account, which is funded by multiple destinations.
A statement by the Ministry of Education: "The Director-General of UNESCO / Irina Bokova / signed with the Secretary-General of the National Committee of the Iraqi organization Hassanein Maaleh, and on behalf of the Minister of Education, an agreement offers Iraq whereby the contribution of one million U.S. dollars.

For his part, Maaleh said that "UNESCO has done a lot for Iraq after the conflict in 2003," he said, adding that the Iraqi government supports the leadership of UNESCO and policy reform aimed at increasing the focus of the organization's activities and Tanaspetha, field work and support at the State level.
He renewed his country's commitment to Iraq frank towards UNESCO and confidence in their activities, calling to consider this contribution is tantamount to a declaration of solidarity with UNESCO and express their support for the important activities and "an initiative to strengthen the relationship between Iraq and UNESCO."
Iraq's participation came the donation after the withdrawal of the U.S. National Committee of UNESCO's contribution due to approve the entry of the State of Palestine a member of UNESCO in support of Palestine's membership in UNESCO and by the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers No. (464) in 2012.
