Egyptian Minister of Electricity: agreements with the Iraqi side to activate cooperation between the two countries

Engineer Ahmed Imam, Minister of Electricity and Energy said his recent visit to Iraq opened the way for the entry of Egyptian companies working in the field of electricity in many Iraqi projects and tenders for the deployment of smart meters, which are now being implemented.
The minister said - in a statement Friday - that he signed several agreements and his Iraqi counterpart to activate cooperation between the two sides and the formation of a committee of Egyptian experts to visit Iraq and study needs in this area, as was agreed to establish joint ventures in the field of electricity, consulting and engineering studies and implementation of projects of mechanical and electrical.
He added, according to the Middle East News Agency, he held talks to start in the exchange of experiences between the two sides and the use of Egyptian expertise to enter the smart metering system and rehabilitation of human resources through training programs in Egypt, a unit of the electricity sector.
The minister praised welcomed by the Iraqi side Egyptian investments there and overcome any obstacles encountered in this area and the willingness of the Egyptian companies to participate in tenders for the development of the Iraqi electrical grid.
