Barzani during a meeting with Erdogan: We will support the peace process to end violence in the region

New President of the Kurdistan Regional Government Nechirvan Barzani, the region's readiness to provide support for the success of the ongoing peace talks between the PKK and the Turkish government, with Prime Minister praised the role of the region in Turkish.
This came during a meeting with Barzani on Monday, with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Ankara, Turkey, where they discussed the current situation in the region in general and Iraq in particular as well as the latest developments on the Iraqi political scene, and relations between Erbil and Baghdad.
During the meeting, which was attended by Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government Imad Ahmed, shed light on the mechanism of strengthening economic and trade relations between Turkey and Iraq in general and Kurdistan in particular. In the same context, both sides expressed their readiness for the opening of a border crossing last between Kurdistan and Turkey and facilitate the roads between the two sides of this project.
The Kurdish issue in Turkey and the political process to resolve the Kurdish issue peacefully another focus of the meeting, and in this regard reiterated Barzani HE Kurdistan region to start the peace process and expressed the willingness of the Kurdistan region to provide all forms of support for the success of this process, hoping to reach peace talks to the desired results and end fighting and violence, calling on all parties to work seriously to achieve the peace process and a peaceful solution and to take advantage of this opportunity to resolve the issue peacefully.
For his part, Turkish Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to the position of the Kurdistan region in support of the peace process and the efforts of the region to reach a positive outcome, reconciliation and the restoration of the security situation, describing the role and assist the Kurdistan Regional Government as significant in this area.
In the axis of the meeting the two sides discussed the situation in Syria and the latest developments, and the two sides expressed their concern for the continuing violence and the complexity of the crisis, especially the continued widening in the humanitarian plight and increase the proportion of refugees on a daily basis. And stressed the urgent need to find a solution to end the fighting and reducing the humanitarian plight of the Syrian people.
