Baghdad (newsletter).Iraq participated in the work of the third Review Conference of the chemical weapons Convention, which opened Monday in the Hague, attended by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the Director-General of the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (opcw) Ahmet üzümcü, and Dutch Foreign Minister Frans timermans, in addition to a number of Ministers and dignitaries from States parties to the chemical weapons Convention.
According to a statement by the Foreign Affairs received (News Agency) a copy of it: that Iraq will attend the high-level delegation, headed by Undersecretary Mohammed Jawad aldorki and membership Ambassador Ahmad Bamarni Chief Iraq organizations and representatives organization and permanent Chairman of the national oversight body.
Work will continue until April 19 to review the implementation of the opcw and States parties to the Convention during the past five years and the future plan for the next five years.
The statement said the Conference began its work by naming the heads of the most important positions of leadership conference, Mr. Krzysztof botrag, Poland, Chairman of the current session, the election of Ambassador Dr. Saad Abdelmajid Ibrahim/Iraq, Iraq's Permanent Representative to the Organization, the Chairman of the Committee of the whole of the Conference, to add this accomplishment to the Iraqi diplomatic successes in international forums and organizations.
The agent gave the word Iraq, insisting: feeling proud to represent Iraq at the first Conference to review the implementation of this important Convention since Iraq's accession by 2009, Iraq's achievements at the national level in the implementation of the provisions of the Convention and to support the work and activities of the Organization for the achievement of the targets established for them and enhancing international peace and security./finished/r./
