Baghdad (AIN) –MP Aziz al-Mayahi, the member of the Economic and Investment Parliamentary Committee, demanded the Government to exempt the owners of the heavy vehicles of taxes to reduce the cost of implemented projects.
Mayahi reported in statement received by AIN on Wednesday "The owners of the heavy vehicles are the breadwinners for many families and the state treasury does not need to deduct part of their income."
"Iraq is currently witnessing construction and building movement and these heavy vehicles provide major benefits for the reconstruction projects and by imposing taxes on the owners of the heavy vehicles will lead to rise the cost of the projects and thus to hinder the reconstruction march,'' he added.
Mayahi emphasized that "The Government should cancel the taxes imposed on heavy vehicles owners and support them where they provide important services to the march of rebuilding Iraq.'' \END\
