Shafaq News / A security source in Salahuddin province said on Saturday, that al-Qaeda prince was arrested in Tikrit as well as two of his assistants in a private security operation.
“A private security force was able this afternoon from arresting a prince of al-Qaeda in Tikrit and two of his assistants in a security operation, "noting that" the operation was carried out on the basis of accurate intelligence information,” the source told “Shafaq News”.
“Various amounts of weapons were found during the raid operation while the detainees were transferred to the concerned authorities to complete the judicial proceedings,” he added.
The Iraqi military forces, backed by air cover are carrying out series of operations in Baghdad belt areas and several provinces, including Salahuddin as a part of broad security plan to arrest al-Qaeda militants, according to security sources.
