Iraq - Undersecretary Meets Egyptian Foreign Minister

Mr. Mohamed Kamel Amr, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt met in his office at the Foreign Ministry in Cairo ,Labeed Abbawi Foreign Ministry's Undersecretary ,accompanied by the Iraqi Ambassador in Egypt, Nizar al Kheirullah.
The two sides reviewed the political situation in the Arab region and stressed the importance of coordination and consultation between the two countries to follow up the developments and to activate the joint Arab action on new basis that express aspirations of the Arab peoples.
They also discussed the bilateral relations and the ways of consolidating and developing them to serve the common interests of both countries, and emphasized the importance of mutual support. They also discussed the ongoing preparations for the second session of the Iraqi - Egyptian Joint Commission and strategic cooperation to be held in Baghdad, stressing that the bilateral relations between Egypt and Iraq is an advanced model for the Arab- Arab relations.
Mr. Abbawi confirmed the invitation of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki for his Egyptian counterpart Essam Sharaf to visit Iraq, which will take place during the coming days.
