Iran, Iraq Enhance Defense Cooperation

Iran’s PressTV reports that Iran and Iraq have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost defense cooperation.
The MoU was signed on Thursday by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and his Iraqi counterpart, Saadoun al-Dulaimi , who was visiting Tehran.
The ministers described the agreement as an important factor in promoting and consolidating peace and stability in the region.
Earlier in the week, the Iranian Defense Minister expressed Iran’s readiness to equip and strengthen the Iraqi armed forces, saying the Middle Eastern countries are capable of maintaining regional security without foreign help.
