Baghdad / follow-up obelisk: Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said Iraq has signed a contract worth six billion dollars with Sataram Swiss to build an oil refinery capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day and operated in Maysan province, south of the country.
Maliki said during a signing ceremony on Thursday that the investment project is important participation the private sector and will contribute to fill the country's need of oil products.
The refinery is one of four new projects aimed to increase refining capacity by about 740 thousand barrels per day and the development of Iraq's oil sector.
