Minister of Finance in Washington looking to protect Iraqi funds from creditors

BAGHDAD / JD / .. Ministry of Finance announced for talks in Washington on the protection of Iraqi funds after the end of the period of immunity in 05/22/2014, while stressed the need for the adoption of the law offices prudent to do to provide payments for the benefit of Iraq before the courts of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said in a statement received / JD / copy of it: that the Minister of Finance and agency purity of net debt and the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq in the building of the Iraqi Embassy United States of America in Washington, discussed with the legal adviser to the Ministry of Finance of the Foundation Cleary Kutlb discuss the status of the measures that will protect Iraqi funds abroad and to be implemented by the Iraqi government after the end of the period of immunity in 22/05/2014.
He stressed the importance of the adoption of the Net law offices prudent to do to provide payments for the benefit of Iraq before the courts against foreign lawsuits brought by some Aldaúnyen outside trading.
The Net has ruled out extension of international protection of Iraqi funds abroad, estimated at 180 billion dollars.
Safi said that the Iraqi government will discuss the issue of the protection of Iraqi funds abroad and how to protect both legal and finance with both the U.S. administration and the IMF and the World Bank.
He pointed out that Iraq has the means capable of providing the necessary protection for his money and that the government is seeking to settle the entire debt obligations and agreements signed by the Paris Club.
The net debt that Iraq ended three and forty state while negotiations are under way to repay the debt to the rest of the eight countries only. / End / / 22
