Economist: foreign companies declined to invest in the field east of Baghdad as it locates within populated areas

BAGHDAD / NINA / The economic expert, Ali Jabbar said that foreign companies declined to invest in the east of Baghdad's field because it is located within populated areas , in addition to the quality of the oil , which is heavy compared with oil fields are located in the southern region .
He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The field of east of Baghdad, is one of the fields that was not invested properly for several reasons , including it near to populated areas and the inaccuracy of geological surveys and Exploratory processes as well as the quality of crude oil, which is different from what was discovered in Iraq, indicating that this field extends to the province of Diyala , and it is a giant oil fields relatively , as it is estimated of about eight billion barrels . "
The capital Baghdad includes, especially in the northern and eastern regions , many of the oil wells that operate under the supervision of the Ministry of Oil, some operate since the era of the former regime, which extract approximately 20 thousand barrels of oil per day .
Iraq seeks, through the development of its oil fields and offer them to the international companies , to reach a production of at least 11 million barrels per day within the next five years , and to 12 million barrels per day after adding the quantities produced from other fields .
