Baghdad {Forat} -The parliament Economy and Investment Committee assured that Iraq lost more than $ 60 billion due to the delay of ratifying the budget.
Member of the Parliament Committee, MP Mahma Khalil said on Wednesday "The delayed budget is attributed to political purposes and the government did not want to endorse the budget in order to exploit its funds on the expenses of the recent parliament elections and other things."
"The term of the parliament will end without budget ratified and this is clearly a constitutional breach as the article No. 57 stipulates that the term should remain open till the approval of the budget, this means the current term of parliament will be open endlessly," Khalil added.
"The government tries to cover up the transgress on the public money through merging budget of 2014 with that of 2015 and this is a dangerous precedent," he argued. /End/ [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
