Announced in the General Company for Iron and Steel, signed a contract working partnership between the spiral pipe plant and the Kuwaiti company for the production of pipes and oil services an initial production capacity of 150 000 tons per year.
The director of the factory pipe spiral Hussein Faleh Hussein said in an interview to Radio Marbad that "the General Company for Iron and Steel signed a contract with the Kuwaiti company in the factory premises and within the powers granted to the Board of Directors of the signing of partnership contracts without reference to the Ministry of Industry and Minerals."
He added that "investment contract signed with the Kuwaiti company unspecified number of years, he held a post within employment contracts and renewed demand by type of work, which will be signed later."
Hussein said that "the Kuwaiti side is obliged by contract to train cadres and the provision of raw materials and to obtain certificates (ISO) and (IBI) within the specifications of the American Petroleum Institute for the purpose of producing pipes of high-quality," adding that "the Iraqi side bears by providing machinery and tools backup In addition to the technical staff. "
The spiral pipe plant, is one of the most important factories of the General Company for Iron and Steel, which is located in the area of Umm Qasr, south of Basra, was opened in 1972, has been prequalified for the work in 2012 and employs more than 600 employees.
