Department of Transportation: 2015 will see the beginning of the receipt of 11 Boeing aircraft type
Friday November 28, 2014 - 13:24
The Ministry of Transport announced that early next year will see the receipt of 11 Boeing aircraft type through a contract with Boeing to supply Iraq with more than 40 aircraft, noting that the deal will be the main column of Iraqi Airways in the coming years.
Technical Agent for the Ministry of banks Rakane told Radio tow that failure to approve the 2014 budget contributed significantly to not import any aircraft, especially in the last months of this year due to the inability of the Ministry of Transport to provide the amounts allocated to push it to the Boeing Company for each aircraft, which is planned to arrive successively to the lines Iraqi air.
Rakane explained that his ministry may be turned in the coming period to borrow money from one of the international banks in order to be allocated to the contract with Boeing, noting that his ministry was looking as well as with the US Export Bank to get money from him to cover the entitlements of that decade.
On another topic Technical Secretary of the Ministry of Transport revealed that the line, which opened recently between Basra and Baghdad to transport passengers across the aircraft was not effective because of the problems that hinder the arrival of passengers from Basra towards the airport, and the capital to Baghdad International Airport, which led to the difficulty of the arrival of passengers to these two airports.
And between Rakane that his ministry is seeking to create cars ensures the transfer of passengers from the city center towards Basra airport and maintaining a similar work in Baghdad, explaining that this measure would be insufficient to increase passenger numbers from Baghdad towards Basra and vice versa.
