Iraq begins to discuss the laying of pipes for oil and gas between Iraq and Egypt through Jordan Details

Official at the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum, announced that a joint delegation with Jordan will visit the Iraqi capital Baghdad in mid of this month, to discuss the D pipelines for oil and gas from Iraq through Jordan and details to Egypt.
The Egyptian official said in a press statement, the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Sharif Ismail agreed with Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Saif, during their talks in Cairo early March last to send a delegation to hold bilateral talks with the Iraqi side in this regard.
Signed oil ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Iraq in March 2014 a joint protocol of cooperation in the field of energy, and included a link Iraq to the Arab gas line extending between Egypt and Jordan to take advantage of the excess capacity of the Iraqi gas. It also included building a pipeline to transport crude oil from Iraq passes through the port of Aqaba, Jordan, even on the Red Sea, to exploit the surplus of Iraqi crude oil to meet the needs of Jordan energies. The expected completion of the line in 2018, and the card export of one million barrels per day, with a future plan to extend the line to Egypt.
The delegation is scheduled to be presented to the Iraqi side, initial studies for the establishment of the two lines, helping to exploit the excess energies of Iraqi crude oil through the pipeline, which will be created between the three countries.
The Egyptian official added that the Jordanian side strongly excited to accelerate the start of the implementation of this project, because it will help Oman to reduce the energy bill which amounts annually about $ 6.5 billion, and in the provision of fuel to produce electricity at preferential prices, while Egypt is looking forward to it as an important way to diversify its oil imports. ended 9
