Iraqi Kurdistan Ministry of Finance: Natural resources did not answer our questions

ERBIL-Hewler, Kurdistan region ‘Iraq’,— Rebaz Mohammed Hamlan, the Minister of Finance and Economy in Kurdistan Regional Government, who belongs to Change (Gorran) Movement said that he is likely not to sign the minutes of the oil and gas Council in the regional government because his bloc has directed 28 questions and 10 inquiries to the Ministry of Natural Resources, demanding for responds.
Hamlan said in a televised interview on KNN satellite TV close to Change movement, that the Ministry of Natural Resources in the previous cabinet reshuffle has provided different amounts of money to the ministries, adding that they assured it that this is a violation of the law shall not be continued under article 57 of Law 22 of 2007.
He explained that among the violations carried out by the Ministry of Natural Resources in the previous cabinet reshuffle is that all oil and gas companies have been exempted from tariffs, adding that the parliament was not aware of the contracts and works carried out by those companies in that period, which is about 36 companies operates in oil production of 59 places.
About the amount of debt owed to his ministry, he confirmed that they are 8 trillion and 8,111 billion dinars.
On debt that have been granted to companies in the previous cabinet reshuffle to support investment and the completion of the projects, Hamlan said that it is 750 billion dinars, stressing that the companies that were delayed in paying the debt will be fined and benefits will be obtained from them as well.
