Undersecretary of FM Meets Turkish Ambassador

BAGHDAD / NINA / Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Affairs Nazar Kairollah discussed with the Turkish Ambassador Farouk Qaimagja bilateral relations and ways of strengthening them, as well as developments in the region.
Kairollah, during the meeting, according to a foreign ministry statement today confirmed “the strength and depth of relations and ties between the two Muslims neighboring countries and the pursuit of the new Iraq to play an active role in the region and solving problems in political and peaceful means in line with the Iraq policy.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador stressed the importance of resolving conflicts in the region peacefully, praising Iraq’s role in solving problems in a peaceful manner.
On the other hand, Kairollah discussed with a delegation from the Brazilian Ministry of Defense, headed by Admiral Antonio Guerrero, importance of cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields, especially the military.
A statement for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted Kairollah as saying that Iraq is facing an unconventional war and needs the support of his friends in this difficult period.
For his part, Admiral Guerrero stressed his country’s keenness to provide assistance to Iraq, saying that his government is seeking to strengthen the bonds of cooperation by signing a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding in the commercial and political fields .
