The border crossings acknowledge the existence of smuggling of goods

The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Al-Waeli, announced that there are smuggling of goods through unofficial outlets in Iraq, and that they are not subject to customs tax.
Al-Waeli said, in his interview with Al-Iraqiya TV, which was seen by Al-Iktissad News, that the official outlets are controlled and we collect taxes and fees from the merchants, but the unofficial outlets are smuggled into them, explaining that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed to develop deliberate plans to limit the entry of goods from the ports Unofficial.
Al-Waeli noted that the plan began to be implemented since last Tuesday, in Diyala governorate, as more than 95 cars were seized carrying materials unfit for consumption and not subject to examination.
