Amara (NINA) - Member of State of Law Coalition, Mohammed Saadoun Al Sayhood, stressed the need to get Iraq out of Chapter VII and remove its justifications since Iraq fulfilled all its international obligations towards the neighboring countries and the region.
He said, in a statement to NINA that “international sanctions were imposed on Iraq as a result of the reckless behaviors of the authoritarian regime and its attacks on neighboring countries, therefore, the Iraqi people paid the ultimate price because of the irresponsible policies.”
He added that the US should play its real role in the UN Security Council to get Iraq out of Chapter VII since Iraq fulfilled its obligations to neighboring countries, indicating that the justification of these sanctions have been removed because Iraq no longer poses a threat to the security and stability of those countries.
He continued “the coming period will witness the beginning of a new phase in relations with the US through the activation of the strategic framework agreement after the end of the security agreement concluded between the two sides. /End/
