Distributing student aid via electronic payment cards

Baghdad: Wafa Amer,
the electronic government communication team, in coordination with a number of local banks, identified 12 primary schools in Baghdad, so that payments will be made to those who requested aid, via electronic payment cards.
The team's deputy head, Adnan Al-Arabi, told Al-Sabah that the special committee for electronic payment for school students, which the team formed pursuant to a Diwani order in coordination with the Ministry of Education, local banks and private companies, is responsible for developing mechanisms for implementing the electronic payment campaign for students in schools, indicating that
The student segment is very large, as it represents about a quarter of the population.
He pointed out that the campaign will
start with primary school students,
followed by the rest of the stages,
reaching universities and institutes,
pointing to the agreement with a number of banks for the purpose of starting to issue electronic payment cards, especially after identifying 12 primary schools in the capital.
