Abawi meets in Prague with Czech Foreign Minister, Vice-Chairman of the Senate council

Baghdad (NINA) - Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Labeed Abawi, currently visiting the Czech Republic, met with Czech Foreign Minister, Karl von Chwerzenberg.
A statement issued by the ministry today mentioned that the Czech Minister expressed his delight over the visit that will contribute in the development of bilateral relations, and prepare for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki to Prague.
Abawi said that the visit is a good opportunity to discuss ways to develop and strengthen bilateral relations, identify possible areas of cooperation, and to convey an invitation from the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zibari, to his Czech counterpart to visit Baghdad.
Chwerzenberg welcomed Zibari’s invitation, expressing his desire to visit Iraq in coming February or March.
Abawi also met with Deputy Chairman of the Senate council, Gaodischofa, and a number of members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Security and Defense Committee at the council.
Gaodischofa expressed the Czech parliament looking forward to the forthcoming visit of Iraqi Prime Minister, stressing the importance of developing relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The statement explained that the forthcoming visit of the Iraqi Parliament Speaker and the visit of a delegation of the Czech Senate Council headed by its Chairman to Iraq, will contribute to the consolidation of relations between the two parliaments. /End/
