Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki affirmed during the last public session of the ministerial council aimed to discuss the achievements of the 100 day deadline, that current assessments do not favor the full withdrawal of the army from Iraqi cities and the handover of security to police forces because the country is facing major challenges and suffering from terrorist networks, Maliki said.
The Army is not responsible for the security of Iraqi cities; however, it is not legally restricted for the army to take over security in the cities.
