Baghdad (AIN) –The State of Law Coalition’s MP Mohammed al-Sayhoud pointed out that “The judicially wanted Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi is now in Kurdistan Region and it became the responsibility of Kurdistan Regional Government to hand him over for justice."
Speaking to All Iraq News Agency, MP Sayhoud said Tuesday “The KRG is responsible for handing over Hashimi to courts at the Central Government,” noting that “Hashimi’s case cannot be settled unless he shows up before the Iraqi judiciary.”
The Central Criminal Court decided to set a date for Hashimi’s trial in absentia on March 3rd for accusations of being involved terrorist activities that targeted civilians, security elements, governmental employees and Shiite pilgrims. /End/
