Revealed a senior official at the Embassy of Iraq to Saudi Arabia, that prisoners who are being investigated will not be covered by the Convention on the exchange of prisoners between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, to be concluded mid-March now.
Dr. contagious Obeidi, the supervisor of the bilateral relations and legal embassy, told the Middle East of London, that the Iraqi Justice Minister Hassan al-Shammari will be chaired by the Iraqi delegation to sign the exchange of prisoners, after it was agreed implicitly to all terms, while there is a lack of clarity in defining the terms on prisoners sentenced to death, and actually to be discussed during the meeting with the Saudi side.
He said the Iraqi side legal barriers will be discussed with the Saudi side of the convicts in the prisons of Riyadh, as well as to discuss on the mechanism of exchange and time.
He said al-Obeidi, the Convention will not include prisoners under arrest or have not completed the investigation with them, where the number of those arrested were from the Iraqi side, 15 people were arrested under the provisions of different length of the last two months, the debate will not be around them until the guilty and bring them to justice.
He pointed to al-Obeidi, the parties reached an agreement are clear, and delivery will be two batches of prisoners for the Saudis, and of the 113 prisoners, all charged in connection terrorist organizations, while the number of Iraqi prisoners, 11 prisoners accused of various criminal provisions.
The coordination procedures for the initial discussions between the parties throughout the 60 days, have seen considerable debate following the publication of press reports attributed to the Deputy of the existence of Iraqi prisoners from the prisons of the royal family of Baghdad, Iraq, which was denied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She was the Foreign Ministry in Riyadh, citing local media reports, surprise of the issuance of such statements is correct, noting that it had to be on the Iraqi side accuracy.
