BAGHDAD / With: said Ali al-Moussawi, media advisor to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said that his country needs to strengthen military cooperation with the United States.
Moussawi stressed in a press statement: "the need to strengthen internal power factors in order to prevent foreign powers from interfering in the affairs of Iraq and to preserve national sovereignty."
Moussawi declined to a report in the New York Times about "Help Iraqi banks for Iran to evade international sanctions imposed over its nuclear program," Amadvia "that the report contained a lot of inaccuracies."
He Moussawi that "the United States on the full knowledge that Baghdad can not pay what Bzmtha of debt to Iran in exchange for supply of electric power," explaining that "Iraq follows an independent policy away from the regional hubs and international which raises the ire of regional and international parties," he said .
