Baghdad (AIN) -The independent MP Safiya al-Sihail warned from certain political sides within the political process who are seeking to create disputes and ignite strife in Iraq, calling to curb these plans by holding the planned national meeting.
Sihail said that "The national meeting became un urgent need to preserve the security of the country, urging the political sides in general to speed up holding the national meeting."
"After 2003, we witnessed great disappointments where we did not succeed in building the political and security stability and still there is nothing that reassures us of possibility of addressing the current political scene which is infested with tensions and disputes," she added.
It is worth to mention that the relations between Baghdad and Erbil witnessed significant tension over the past few days especially after the events that took place on last Friday in Tuz Khormato district associated to Salah il-Din province when elements of Dijla OC clashed with bodyguards of a Kurdish figure in Tikrit city, capital of Salah il-Din resulted in killing a civilian and injuring a number of Dijla OC's elements.
