A Committee between Iraq and the United Nations for the implementation of the Convention against corruption

Baghdad/Obelisk: the Iraqi Government announced Wednesday the formation of a Joint Committee with the United Nations for the implementation of the Convention against corruption for the protection of witnesses and informants and victims.
The Government said in a statement "the Obelisk", a copy of it, the "General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers formed a Committee to prepare a draft integrated project responds to the requirements of the United Nations Convention on the issue of fighting corruption for protection of witnesses and informants and victims".
"The Committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Director-General of the legal service in the public integrity Commission comprising representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council and secretariat to the Cabinet and the Office of financial supervision, as well as ministries of finance, Interior and defense and a number of the security services", stating that "the Committee was based on customs, no. 126 of 2012".
She noted that "the Committee will submit its recommendations to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to take the necessary action."
A number of the provinces of Iraq are pervasive in the phenomenon of financial and administrative corruption under a political crisis in the country, with calls non-governmental civil society organizations need to use effective mechanisms to reduce the spread of this phenomenon, while experiencing the competent authorities in the fight against corruption, witnesses and informants from some threats.
