Mutlaq, Jeffrey and Austin discuss Iraqi-US relations - statement

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Vice-Premier Saleh al-Mutlaq discussed today with the U.S.
Ambassador James Jeffrey and Commander of the U.S.
Forces Lloyd Austin, the U.S.
withdrawal dossier and the importance of planning a new form of relations between the two peoples, according to a statement issued by his office.
The statement, as received by Aswat al-Iraq, reported that the parties discussed the relations between Baghdad and Washington, particularly the expected U.S.
forces withdrawal.
It added that Mutlaq stressed the importance of having full role for the signed agreement between the two countries, as a prelude for the coming phases of relations between them.
The U.S.
combat forces withdrew from Iraq by the end of August last according to the security agreement signed in 2008, provided that the remaining non-combat forces should withdraw by the end of this year.
