Baghdad (NINA) – *****Finance Minister, Rafi’ al-Essawi, discussed with US Ambassador to Iraq, James Jeffrey, and Commander of US forces in Iraq, General Lloyd Austin, the situation in Iraq and the region.*****
A statement issued on Friday, Aug. 26, by the Finance Minister’s Office, said “Essawi met with Jeffrey and Austin discussing the relations between Iraq and the United States and means to consolidate them.”
It added, *****“In the meeting, discussion dealt with political and security situation in Iraq, and exchanged points of view about the region’s ongoing events.”******
