Baghdad (NINA) - Osama Al Nujeifi, Parliament Speaker, denied that Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki submitted a report to the parliament on the readiness of security forces.
He said during a news conference today "Maliki presented simple information about the readiness of security forces during his speech yesterday about slimming the government, but, the Parliament did not receive any report showing the readiness of security forces to take over security after the withdrawal of U.S. troops."
He continued "there is, currently, no request from the Americans that affirms their desire to keep their forces in Iraq."
Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki told a news conference yesterday that he submitted a preliminary report to Parliament about the readiness of Iraqi forces in case of U.S. forces’ withdrawal.
As for the issue of port Mubarak, Nujeifi said "the Parliament is concerned with this subject, and it listened to the ministers of transport and foreign affairs, but, their information were not identical."
Regarding the subject of the security ministries, Nujeifi declared "the Iraqiya Slate, proposed that one of its current ministers assumes the Defense Ministry, but the prime minister has not answered yet,” calling on Maliki and the political blocs to speed up solving the issue of these ministries as soon as possible. /End/
