Iraq, Bulgaria sign agreement over mutual economic cooperation

Baghdad (Forat) -Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynev welcomed Iraqi Minister of Trade Khairallah Babiker in Sofia on last Friday.
A statement received by Alforat News Agency cited "The two discussed matters of mutual interest, as well as signed an agreement for economic and research cooperation between the two countries."
"The event also included holding the 25th session of the joint Bulgarian-Iraqi committee for trade, economic and technical cooperation," the statement added.
"For his part, Bulgarian Minister assured that the committee will actively contribute to the institutions' and businesses' efforts to deepen their bilateral partnership."
"He added that he believes that this will greatly stimulate direct contacts between Bulgarian and Iraqi companies," the statement continued.
"The two ministers further recalled that relations between the two countries stem from many years back, and underscored the need to make the best of them," the statement concluded. /End/
